PMG offers an integrated series of development programs for staff at varying levels.
The Commonwealth Management Institute (CMI) is a valued avenue for professional development for experienced managers in Virginia state government. Since its inception, more than 2,900 managers have been selected to attend CMI to increase their ability to effectively design, implement, and evaluate public programs and policies.
CMI is about affecting positive change - in self, in others, and in your agency. With this in mind, the discussions, activities, and interactions at CMI are designed to enhance your:
CMI promotes the exchange of information, the development of creative ideas, and cooperation and future collaboration among program participants. PMG coordinates the Institute in collaboration with CMI alumni through the Commonwealth Managers Association.
The CMI is a five-day program. If accepted, please be prepared to read preparatory material, engage in thought-provoking activities, and stay the duration of the Institute.
