Liz Carty, Program Specialist at the Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute (GEHLI), is responsible for providing support to existing programs in the Wilder School and collaborating with staff to ensure programmatic success. She is directly responsible for overseeing the HIGHER Ground Women's Leadership Development and Virginia Executive Institute (VEI) programs in addition to conducting leadership education and development research.

Liz received her B.S. in Political Science and International Studies from Longwood University and her M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Shenandoah University. Her background includes serving as an International Student Advisor and Program Specialist at Longwood University, as a Patient Safety Companion specialist at Valley Health Winchester Medical Center, and as a Student Compact and Conduct Coordinator at Emory University. Throughout the various roles she has held, Liz has held consistent goals to serve others, bring an optimistic mindset to her team, and help develop (and achieve) goals both for individuals as well as for the mission of her organization.
